Majeed Waris Saves Nantes with 89th Minute Goal



Ghana striker, Abdul-Majeed Waris was on target for French side FC Nantes when they took on Anges in Saturday’s dramatic 1-1 League 1 fixture.

The on-loan forward from Portuguese side FC Porto came off the bench in the 74th minute for midfielder Andrie to secure a point for Nantes.

Angers took an early lead courtesy striker Staphane Bahoken in the opening 5minutes of the game for the visitors.

just when everything seem over for the home side, Majeed Waris, a second half substitute fired a powerful strike into the back of the net in the 89th minutes before referee, Clement Turpin brought the game to a close.

FC Nantes are middle of the League 1 table with 17 points in 14 outings.

After inking a mega deal with the Navrongo based Television Station and reported by about two weeks ago, management of Pio TV have taken a giant step by reposing confidence in the celebrated sports journalist, Halid Prince Mukadi Gbramoni as Head of Sports.

The multiple-award winning sports personality is scheduled to hold his first live program come Monday, 19th January 2018.

Mr. Mukadi has been working with Zaa Radio (99.3FM), a leading and award winning commercial radio station in the Northern Region for the past seven years as Sports Anchor (Zaa Sports) and later appointed, Head of Marketing.

Sapashini, as he is fondly called for his enthusiastic sports presenting had a short stint with Northern Television (NTV) dishing out the best of news in the world of sports.

Prince Mukadi On NTV

Prince Mukadi Gbramoni’s first job with Pio TV will be as host of Pio Sports Hour (weekly sports update) every Monday’s and the Weekend Sports Review (sports analysis program) on Saturday’s for an hour and half.

He will also join the Pio Morning Show crew every weekday for brief happenings in the sports world.

Prince Mukadi is regarded one of the best presenters in the Northern Region haven’t won multiple awards for the best sports present and sports program of the year for multiple times at the Northern Entertainment Awards (NEA) and another top award at just ended Hyperlink Media Awards.

He also holds the largest listenership base and one of the highest paid media personality in the region.

Mohamed Salah named BBC African Footballer of the Year 2018

Egypt and Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been voted BBC African Footballer of the Year for the second time in a row.

The 26-year-old beat Medhi Benatia, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sadio Mane and Thomas Partey to the prize.

The Premier League’s player of the year scored 44 goals in 52 games for Liverpool last season.

“It’s a great feeling to win again. I’m happy and I would like to win it also next year!” said Salah.

As well as inspiring his club to the Champions League final, Salah scored twice for Egypt at this year’s World Cup, having netted both goals in the match which took his country to the tournament for the first time since 1990.

“There have been many good moments in 2018,” he added. “The game against Roma at Anfield [Champions League semi-final first leg] was unbelievable. I’m scoring goals and helping the team to get the points to be top of the league. That’s always a great feeling.”

Salah said his aim for 2019 is “to win something with the club so everyone is excited”.

“I try to push myself every day to help the team win something,” he added.

The BBC received more than 650,000 votes this year – a record for the award.

Salah becomes the first player since Nigerian Jay-Jay Okocha to win in consecutive years.

Salah opens scoring for Egypt with smart finish
The former Chelsea player signed for the Reds from Roma in the summer of 2017. He scored 15 goals and made 11 others for the Italian side in 2016-17 as they finished second in Serie A, their best league placing for seven years.

In a phenomenal start to his Liverpool career, Salah scored 19 goals in his first 24 appearances. He went on to beat the previous record of 31 goals in a 38-game Premier League season shared by Luis Suarez for the Reds in 2013-14, Cristiano Ronaldo for Manchester United in 2007-08 and Alan Shearer for Newcastle in 1995-96.

Mohamed Barakat (2005) and Mohamed Aboutrika (2008) are the other Egyptians to have won the award.

aMultiple award winning sports presenter and Head of Marketing at Zaa Radio in the Northern Region, Halid Prince Mukadi Gbramoni, in the next couple of weeks will leave Northern Television (NTV)  based Pio Tv. can authoritatively report.

The indifaticable Zaa Sports presenter has sealed a  mouthwatering two year deal with the station, at a whopping cost of GHS100,000 (One Billion) including bonuses and other specialty packages after both parties finalized talks Wednesday evening.

Management of Pio TV spoke exclusivelwith Tamale Online News indicating that Prince Mukadi Gbramoni will start work in January 2019.

According to the management, the station couldn’t look at further but to pick Mr Mukadi who was unanimously agreed as the best candidate for the  job.

Prince Mukadi Gbramoni will host the Pio TV Sports Hour, Sports News Anchor and on the Morning Show respectively.

Prince Mukadi is a stand-alone presenter whose incomparable style of presentation has earned losts of admiration among his colleagues, competitors and has a larger listenership base in the Northern Region and beyond.

His provabial intros, in-depth analysis and up to speed update on the latest news in the world of sports has also earned Mr Mukadi numerous accolades popular amongst all “Sapashini” (Sports Warrior) by majority of the listening public.

He has consistently won the sports personality awards over the last three and four years and is currently nominated for the Hyperlink Media Awards as Sports Personality of the Year and Sports Program of the Year (Zaa Sports).
